One-time setup after installing the app
When you open the app for the first time, it will ask for a server address. Use this exact link:

- Open the Immich app after installing it
- When prompted for a server endpoint URL, paste the link above
- Tap Next, then log in with the username and password your family admin created for you
- Don't have a login yet? Ask your family admin to create one for you.
Enable Overnight Auto-Backup
Your photos upload automatically while you sleep
- In the Immich app, tap the cloud icon in the top right corner
- Select which album(s) you want backed up — usually Camera Roll or Recents
- Scroll down and tap Enable Backup
- Go to your iPhone Settings → Immich → Background App Refresh and make sure it's turned ON, so it can sync overnight while charging
- Leave your phone connected to Wi-Fi and charging overnight for the smoothest backup
- In the Immich app, tap the cloud icon in the top right corner
- Select which album(s) you want backed up — usually Camera or DCIM
- Scroll down and tap Enable Backup
- Go to your phone's Settings → Apps → Immich → Battery and set it to Unrestricted so Android doesn't pause the background sync
- Leave your phone connected to Wi-Fi and charging overnight for the smoothest backup
💡 Tip: the first backup can take a while if you have thousands of photos. After that, it only uploads new photos, so it's much faster.
